SONGMAKERS’ KENNEY GROVE AUGUST 2008 CAMPOUT

A Songmakers’ Kenney Grove weekend campout will be held at Kenney Grove Park near Fillmore Friday through Sunday August 8-10, 2008.
This is one of 4 campouts we have at Kenney Grove each year, and we all have a great time. Put this event on your schedule of fun activities.
A registration form may be printed out by clicking on the link below. Those wishing to arrive early can arrive Thursday (check in starting 12 noon Thursday and checkout by 2 PM Monday).
Those not wanting to camp can come for any or all of the days by paying $5 per day at the gate for each car (up to four people).

This will be a weekend of mostly informal song circle jamming and relaxation. Song circle jamming should be conducted much like hoots in that everyone should be recognized and encouraged to participate. We will be sharing the campground with another group for this event. We will have the upper half of the campground (campsites 1-24) and will be able to use part of the lower area for those with tents. And this will be an opportunity for members of the other camping group to enjoy our music if they are interested.

We plan to have our usual Saturday night concert and invite campers from the other group to attend. Details will be available at Kenney Grove. We will have the usual songs of meaning Sunday morning 10 AM to 12 noon.
Coffee will be provided Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. There will be the usual Ice Cream Social on Saturday at 2:30 P.M and potluck dinner at 6 PM in the upper campground area. Jack Cherrix will coordinate these activities. See him at Kenney Grove if you have questions.
Shower tokens will be available for fifty cents each and can be purchased at Kenney Grove.

There is no RV dump site at Kenney Grove.

Kenney Grove Park is located just outside the town of Fillmore on route 126. Take 126 West from the Interstate 5 (near Magic Mountain). Take the 126 East from the Ventura Freeway just before reaching Ventura. Just after passing Fillmore, if coming from the 5, and just before getting to Fillmore, if coming from the Ventura Freeway, you'll see a sign for Kenney Grove Park. Follow the Kenney Grove signs from there (turn on Old Telegraph Road off the 126, then left on 7th street and right on N. Oak Ave. to the Park).
